Cavern en Introductory Cave Cursus

De Cavern Cursus vindt plaats in een overhead environment waar op elk moment tijdens de duik het daglicht aanwezig is.

De Introcuctory Cave Cursus vindt plaats in een overhead environment voorbij de daglicht zone.


Deze cursussen worden gecombineerd gegeven met een minimum aantal duiken van 8 met een totale bodemtijd van minimaal 480 minuten.
Er kan zowel met lucht als met nitrox worden gedoken. De maximale diepte is 39 meter.

Indien gebruik gemaakt wordt van enkele cylinders met een H of Y kraan dan wordt voor het luchtverbruik de derde regel gebruikt. De inhoud van de cylinder is minimaal 1700 liter gas van een bar.
Wordt tijdens de cursus gedoken met dubbele cylinders gekoppeld dan gebruiken we de zesde regel. Een longhose van 1.5 tot 2 meter is noodzakelijk.

Land drills
-Het gebruik van lijnen in de grot ( use of guidelines )
-Het volgen van deze lijnen met of zonder zicht (following guidelines with and without vision)
-Hoe simuleren van silt-out situaties ( simulation of silt-outs etc. )
-De eenvoudige procedure voor een zoekgeraakte buddy ( lost diver procedure )

Skills in het water
-Het gebruik van verschillende voor in grotten geschikte zwemslagen (propulsion technique)
-Het gebruik van lijnen in de grot ( use of guidelines )
-Het gebruik van lijnmarkeringen ( use of linemarkers ) extra
-Het blind volgen van de lijn naar de uitgang ( blind exit )
-De lijn naar de uitgang volgen tijdens een share air situatie ( share air exit )
-Het blind volgen van de lijn naar de uitgang tijdens een share air situatie ( blind exit share air)
-De eenvoudige procedure voor een zoekgeraakte buddy uitvoeren (lost diver procedure) extra
-Diverse out of air situaties simuleren ( out of air situations )

Confined water session
- Swim a distance of 23 meters without a mask
- Swim in a simulated out of air situation ( without breathing and exhaling slowly ) for a distance of at least 15 meters and commence gas sharing. While gas sharing continue to swim for a distance of at least 60 meters while maintaining a swim rate of 18 meters per minute
- Have two divers, starting at a distance of 12 meters apart, swim in a simulated out of air situation ( without breathing and exhaling slowly) towards each other with eyes closed, following a guidline and begin gas sharing
- After resting for three breaths, divers should swim following the guidline to its source, while continuing to share breathing gas. Both divers must maintain contact with the line
- Perform an “S” drill prior to commencement of all dives
- Simulate gas failure with valve shut downs for both primary and secondary regulators. The entire drill must be completed in less than one minute

In the cave
- Practice running the line and making tie wraps
- With eyes closed follow the guideline and maintain contact with both the buddy and the guideline
- Share breathing gas while following the guideline, both with eyes open and eyes closed or lights off
- Demonstrate proficiency in propulsion techniques including the modified flutter,the modified frog, the modified dolphin and the shuffle kick



Cave en Technical Cave Cursus

De Cave Cursus wordt gedaan met lucht als bodemgas. Er mag wel decompressiegas gebruikt worden vanaf nitrox 40 tot en met 100% zuurstof mits de bijbehorende theorie hiervoor is behandeld. De maximale diepte is 39 meter.

Bij de Technical Cave Cursus wordt er met nitrox als bodemgas gedoken. Wanneer de cursisten IANTD nitrox duikers zijn kan er gedoken worden met nitrox 21 tot 40 als bodemgas en wanneer de cursisten IANTD advanced nitrox duikers zijn mag er ook een decompressiegas bij vanaf nitrox 50.
Gekwalificeerde normoxic duikers mogen naar dieptes tussen de 30 en 60 meter.
Gekwalificeerde trimix duikers mogen duiken tussen 39 en 79 meter diep.


Deze cursussen worden gecombineerd gegeven met een minimum aantal duiken van 8 waarvan minimaal 6 met een bodemgas van minimaal nitrox 23.
De totale bodemtijd is minimaal 480 minuten.

Tijdens de cursus wordt gedoken met dubbele cylinders gekoppeld als backgas en de derde regel voor het luchtverbruik wordt toegepast. Voor nitrox stage cylinders is de minimale inhoud 1400 liter gas van een bar.

Ten opzichte van de Cavern en Introductory Cave Cursus worden er tijdens de Cave en Tecnical Cave Cursus langere duiken gemaakt, gaan we verder het systeem in, leren we nieuwe skills, maken we andere meer complexe type grotduiken zoals een traverse, een circuit of grotduiken met het overbruggen van gaps.
We duiken met stages en maken gebruik van nitrox en/of decompressiegas, eventueel naar grotere diepte met normoxic of trimix.

Land drills
-Het gevorderd gebruik van lijnen in de grot ( use of lines )
-Het gebruik van line arrows ( use of line arrows )
-Het blind vinden van de uitgang ( blacked out drills )
-Uitgebreide procedure voor een zoekgeraakte buddy ( lost diver drills )
-Het repareren van gebroken lijnen ( repaire broken lines )
-Het verbinden van de hoofdlijn met een zijlijn ( use of gaplines )

Skills in het water
-Volledig beheersen van de zwemtechnieken ( 1 )
-De uitgebreide procedure uitvoeren voor een zoekgeraakte buddy (2 )
-Het terugvinden van de vaste lijn in het donker ( 3 )
-Het plaatsen van gaplijnen ( 4 )
-Het blind verlaten van de grot zonder gebruik te maken van de lijn ( 5 )
-Het uitvoeren van een valve shut down tijdens het zwemmen ( 6 )
-Het repareren van gebroken lijnen extra
-Vast zitten in de lijn, jezelf lost snijden en de lijn repareren extra



Confined water session
- Swim with full under water equipment until comfortable with it
- Swim 18 meters while simulating an out of gas situation, then commence gas sharing via the longhose, remain at rest for thre breaths and swim for 10 minutes at a normal swimrate
- Divers using a quick- release on their harness or backpack must swim the system while the instructor disconnects the quick- release to simulate a failure. The student is to swim the system demonstrating control of buoyancy and body positioning with the quick- release disconnected
- Completely deflate BCD and swim while maintaining buoyancy control for at least two minutes. Completely deflate BCD, ascend safely to the surface and remain afloat for at least three minutes
- Two divers 15 meters apart must swim along a line circuit with eyes closed not taking breath, while slowly exhaling until they meet. Upon meeting gas sharing via the longhose combined with touch contact is to be performed until the line circuit is completed
- Simulate gas failure with valve shutdowns for both primary and secondary regulators. The entire drill must be completed in less than one minute
- Perform a predive “S” drill prior to the dive, check all equipment for proper function
- Perform an in-water “S” drill
- Communicate the gas turn around point


In the cave
- Develop proficiency in a variety of propulsion technique including the modified frogkick, modified flutterkick, shuffle kick and the pull and glide technique (1 )
- Demonstrate proficiency in use of reels and lines
- During the dive, at a point after turning the dive, perform a gas sharing drill exiting the cave for a reasonable distance and time
- Blind exit maintaining contact with buddy and the guideline using touch communications
- Blind exit as above and at some point one of the divers will simulate an out of gas situation
- Perform lost diver drills ( advanced ) ( 2 )
- Perform lost line drills ( 3 )
- Conduct or simulate a traverse, gap and circuit dive ( 4 )
- It is recommended that the student attempt to exit the cave with eyes closed or lights off without the use of a line ( 5 )
- On three dives perform a valve shut down whilst swimming, buddy is safety diver during this skill ( 6 )
- On three occasions an out of gas drill must be completed, must be a surprise
- Remove and replace stage cylinder on all dives with as little buoyancy change as possible / same whilst swimming
- Perform a gasswitch whilst swimming
- Close eyes, remove and replace stage cylinder, make gasswitch to stagecylinder, then switch back to primary gas supply
- Clip off stage to the line, follow the line, turn around with mask off and regocognize your own stage and clip it on
